Buddhism is a path of practice and spiritual development which empowers the person with insights , deep insights to see the reality. When Buddha received enlightenment, he envisioned a human race which was similar to a bed of lotus flowers. As it is the law of the nature that lotus stay enmired in the mud, others slowly emerging from it, and some lucky ones blooming and turning into a beautiful lotus flower. In other words, all the living entities have potential to bloom, to prosper, and some need just a little help to unfold their potential. So the Buddha decided to teach, and all of the teachings of Buddhism may be seen as attempts to fulfill this vision — to help people grow towards Enlightenment.
